I was given a trial by a guy who had setup his own company a while back. He was working on a space combat game. I had to design what he called a Merchant Ship for the game. He gave me the required amount of polygons the model needed to be and that was all. Sure enough I came up with a design and created a model. He liked it, but it wasn't the style he was looking for. I was pleased that he wrote back to me and showed an interest in my work, but how was I supposed to know what style of work he required.
He sent me some images later of the models he had previously done and it seemed like he really wanted me to join him in working on the project. It was great, I thought at last I was given my chance to work in the games industry. His work was amazing and I got really excited about it. I told him what I thought of his work and he never wrote back again. I talked to him on ICQ and he just got all weird on me. It's disappointing when your rejected, it always is and I guess that's just part of life. No way I'm going to quit because of it or
